Mark Beardmore, our chief designer and web2print whizz, is embarking on a Coast 2 Coast charity bicycle ride this weekend cycling an epic 210 kilometres with around 8,000ft elevation over 2 days from coast to coast. Mark and the team will be setting off from St Bees in the Lake District (on the West Coast), early on the morning of Saturday 10th July, with a stopover at Appleby, before finishing up the day after at Seaham (on the East Coast) for a ‘well-deserved’ fish and chip supper.
Mark and the team are doing it for a local children’s mental health charity – Visyon – that’s based in Congleton but supports families all over Cheshire and Staffordshire Moorlands.
The impact of the Covid pandemic over the last year has meant Visyon has seen even more children and young people with complex mental health issues than usual, but at the same time, they’ve had to cancel all of their fundraising events due to various lockdowns. We want to raise some money as they need our help to support these children and young people more than ever.
Mark has long been a keen cyclist and has been training for this event for a few months clocking up the miles at the weekend and also by cycling into the office – but cycling across the coast is way further than he has attempted before. Let’s hope he has some kind of refrigeration system in those shorts!
Please give what you can – each donation, no matter the size, will help to get us towards our target and motivate us to cycle up those tough hills! Please share our story too – the more people we can tell about the amazing work of Visyon and our cycling challenge, the more money we can raise for this brilliant charity.
